Application Guidelines

Please read the following guidelines carefully before beginning your application to the Academy’s Audio Recording Programme and before sending any questions to the Verbier Festival Team.

who may apply

Applicants to the Audio Recording Programme must be entering or finishing their final year of sound engineering or Tonmeister training and be aged 20 to 30 on 1 July 2025. 

Languages: proficiency in English; spoken French is an asset

Software: Working knowledge of Pyramix and ProTools is desirable; Applicants will also have a practical understanding of file creation and management.

programme dates

Successful candidates are required to sign an agreement with the Fondation du Verbier Festival, thereby committing to the entire duration of the programme from 13 July to 4 August 2025, and accepting all rules of the Academy.

how to apply

Applications to Verbier Festival Academy Programmes are submitted through the getAcceptd on-line platform.  Google Chrome is recommended as browser for use with the platform.

The language of application documentation is English.

Application Deadline: 16 January 2025 (23:59 EST)

All candidates must provide:

  • Contact information (name, address, etc.)
  • Application Information
    • Date of birth, nationality, etc.
    • Languages spoken
    • School history
    • CV describing academic, professional and other relevant experience
    • A short biography (no longer than 150 words in English or French)
  • Documentation
    • Passport/ID
    • Photo/headshot (landscape orientation)
  • Uploads/Audition
    • Video upload of a self-presentation video answering 1) Why you wish to take part in the Academy’s Audio Recording Programme? AND 2) Where you see yourself in five years. Please present yourself in English to the best of your ability. Videos should be no longer than 5 min.
    • Three to five sample live or studio recordings that demonstrate the quality and diversity of your work
  • At least one (optional two) recommendation letters

application fee

All candidates are required to pay a USD 50 non-refundable application fee. Fees are accepted by credit card only through the getAcceptd application platform.

Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Festival, application fees will be waived for the following candidates:

  • Swiss Citizens born or resident in the Cantons of Bern, Geneva, Juras, Neuchâtel, Valais or Vaud
  • Ukrainian Citizens
  • Russian Citizens

To obtain this exemption, please send proof of eligibility (i.e. a scan of your passport or a letter proving your canton of residence) to the following address: academy@verbierfestival.com.

You must request your fee waiver by 13 January. We will not provide a fee waiver after this date.

costs for successful candidates

The Verbier Festival will provide housing and daily lunch to interns. A per diem is additionally offered for daily living expenses (e.g. breakfasts and dinners). Interns are responsible for booking and paying for their own return travel to Verbier.

faq

Q: I will be younger than 20 or older than 30 on 1 July 2025
Generally, the Academy does not accept applications from applicants younger or older than the stated requirements.

Q: May my CV be in a language other than English?
Yes, we accept CV’s in English, French, German and Italian.

Q: When and how will I find out the results of my application?
You will be sent an email no later than 7 March 2025 with a decision from the Academy. You must confirm your intention to accept an offer no later than 10 March 2025 (19:00 EST).
