VF GOLD, SUMMER RELEASES
The Verbier Festival is delighted to announce the release of two new albums under its prestigious label VF Gold, a result of the collaboration between the Festival and Deutsche Grammophon. These two recordings capture the essence and musical excellence of two great artists from the Verbier Festival family: Marc Bouchkov and Mischa Maisky.
21 June Release: Marc Bouchkov in Verbier
Marc Bouchkov made two stunning performances at the Verbier Festival in 2021 that left indelible impressions on festival listeners. The Belgian violinist performed works by Ysaÿe, both solo and with orchestra including Sonatas Nos. 5 and 6 his rarely heard Violin Concerto in E Minor performed with Gábor Takács-Nagy and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra. The album is released on our joint label Verbier Festival Gold.
19 July Release: Mischa Maisky in Verbier
No artist has performed more frequently at the Verbier Festival since its establishment in 1994 than Mischa Maisky. He has offered numerous heartfelt performances with both friends and family over three decades. We celebrate and honor him this month with a VF Gold album of just some of his exceptional readings, including Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Bruch, Grieg, Richard Strauss and Rachmaninov. The performances include collaborations with Charles Dutoit, Martha Argerich, daughter Lily, as well as son Sascha. The album will be released digitally on 19 July.
