Symphony No. 6 in B Minor, Op. 74, “Pathetique”
- Verbier Festival Orchestra
- Valery Gergiev conductor

A prestigious cast is reunited on stage at the Salle des Combins: Valery Gergiev, one of the most prominent figures in the classical music world; and two generations of pianists well-renowned: Denis Matsuev and Daniil Trifonov—the 2011 Grand Prix at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition.
This performance is extra-special as Valery Gergiev also plays the piano. Indeed, all three musicians join forces to perform Mozart’s Concerto for three pianos and orchestra. To close the concert, Valery Gergiev conducts Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, one of the most famous works by the Russian composer, which was a posthumous triumph.
