Cornelius Zirbo was born in Cluj Napoca where he began his musical studies at age nine. He is now studying at the National University of Music Bucharest under the mentorship of Marin Cazacu. In 2016-2017 was in the Classe d’Excellence de Violoncelle of Gautier Capuçon, held at Fondation Louis Vuitton. He has given recitals and concerts with orchestra in prestigious venues including the Konzerthaus Berlin, Fondation Louis Vuitton, Rudolfinum in Prague, St Martin-in-the-Fields (London), National Library Concert Hall (Beijing) and The Grand Hall of Romanian Athenaeum (Bucharest). He is an alumnus of the 2017 Verbier Festival Academy and has taken part in masterclasses at the Kronberg Academy, Barenboim-Said Akademie, Accademia europea di Palazzo Ricci Montepulciano, George Enescu Festival, and Lisbon’s Verão Classico Festival 2021 in Lisabon. He plays a modern cello made by Frank Ravatin provided by Le fonds instrumental of ‘Musique et Vin au Clos Vougeot’.
Andrew Byun is a Canadian cellist currently pursuing his Masters of Music with Natasha Brofsky at The Juilliard School. He has appeared in masterclasses with Steven Isserlis, Jian Wang, Frans Helmerson, and Laurence Lesser among others and has worked closely with the Borromeo, Brentano, Dover, and Emerson Quartets. Andrew has performed solo at Jordan Hall, Weill Recital Hall, and the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts and has been featured on the WMFT radio station and NPR’s From The Top as a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. A passionate chamber musician, he has been invited to the Taos School of Music, I-M-S Prussia Cove, and La Jolla Music Society’s SummerFest. Andrew attended the New England Conservatory Preparatory School and graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Music in Philosophy and Cello Performance. He has studied with Hans Jorgen Jensen, Myung-wha Chung, Yeesun Kim.
Amy Goto began the cello at age three and has studied with Philippe Muller since the age of 12. In 2020 she became the youngest member of the Classe d’Excellence de Violoncelle de Gautier Capuçon at the Fondation Louis Vuitton. Her debut as soloist with orchestra took place at age 9 with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and in 2015 she received the ‘Hope’ Award at the IX International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. She has been featured on NPR’s From the Top and TEDx University of Rhode Island. At Musica Mundi in 2016, she performed in the closing gala concert as soloist with the festival orchestra and was the youngest semifinalist at the Mazzacurati Competition in 2019. During the summers, Amy has studied at Musica Mundi, Music@Menlo, and Domaine Forget. She currently resides in Rhode Island (USA).
Alejandro Viana commence à étudier le violoncelle à l’âge de sept ans. Il a étudié avec María de Macedo et Lluis Claret à Barcelone. Il étudie actuellement à la Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía (Madrid) avec Ivan Monighetti. Alejandro a participé à la Verbier Festival Academy en 2021 et, en 2018/19, a été membre de la classe d’excellence de violoncelle de Gautier Capuçon. Il a obtenu les premiers prix de plusieurs concours, notamment le Concours International de Musique de Manhattan, le Concours international de violoncelle de Llanes (Espagne) et le Concours international Karl Davidov (Lettonie). Il a participé à des festivals tels que l’IMS Prussia Cove, le Rutesheim Festival et le Santander Festival. En tant que soliste, Alejandro s’est produit avec l’Orchestre de chambre Andrés Segovia, les Solistes de Zagreb et l’Orchestre symphonique Freixenet, entre autres. Il a récemment fait ses débuts au Carnegie Hall.
Après avoir étudié avec Jérôme Pernoo au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris puis dans la Classe d’Excellence de Violoncelle de Gautier Capuçon à la Fondation Louis Vuitton, Caroline Sypniewski se perfectionne auprès de Clemens Hagen au Mozarteum de Salzbourg. Nommée Révélation Classique par l’Adami (2017) et Jeune Talent de la Fête de la Musique et du Vin au Clos-Vougeot (2019), elle a reçu le Prix Ginette Neveu de l’Académie Carl Flesch (2015) et le Grand Prix de l’Académie Ravel (2018). Ivan Skanavi est né à Moscou dans une famille de musiciens. À six ans, il découvre le violoncelle et entre à l’école de musique, sous la tutelle d’Olga Galochkina et Tamara Alekseeva. Il étudie plus tard avec Alexey Seleznev au Conservatoire Tchaïkovski de Moscou. Il est désormais l’élève de Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt à la Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt de Weimar. Ivan est lauréat de plusieurs concours internationaux et notamment demi-finaliste du Concours international Tchaïkovski (2019). Ivan joue un violoncelle du luthier italien David Tecchler datant de 1698.
Thomas Prechal est étudiant à l’Academie Muzikaal Talent (Utrecht) où il reçoit des leçons de Jan-Ype Nota et Michel Strauss. Il est plusieurs fois primé : lauréat du Concours international de violoncelle Bohuš Heran en République tchèque (2017), Premier et Deuxième prix du Concours de composition Princesse Christina (2017 et 2020), Premier prix du Concours de violoncelle « Edmont Baert » à Bruxelles ainsi que Troisième prix et Prix spécial au Concours international de violoncelle « David Popper » en Hongrie. En plus du violoncelle, Thomas aime composer et reçoit régulièrement des commandes pour ses œuvres.
Roger Morelló Ros se produit régulièrement dans des salles de concert prestigieuses telles que la Philarmonie Berlin, la salle Beethoven de la Redoute Bonn, le théâtre Kerkrade, l’auditorium Pau Casals, l’auditorium Josep Carreras, le Palau de la Música Catalana et La Pedrera/Casa Milà, où il était Artiste en résidence en 2018/19. Il a d’abord étudié en Espagne avec Carolina Pineda (Salou), David Blay (Vila-seca), Damian Martínez (Musikene), puis est parti en Allemagne pour poursuivre un Master et un Diplôme de Soliste avec Maria Kliegel à l’Université de Musique de Cologne, terminant avec mention, avec le soutien financier du Deutschslandstipendium et de la Bourse Güell. Il poursuit actuellement un Master de musique de chambre avec Anthony Spiri et Harald Schoneweg.
Irena Josifoska performs as soloist and chamber musician across Europe and the United States. She has received more than 40 awards and recognitions, among them, First Prize winner of Berlin’s Gabrielli Cello Competition in 2021, the same year that she was named co-recipient of the Prix Jean Nicolas Firmenich, recognising the Verbier Festival Academy’s most promising cellist. She was also winner of the Silver Medal at the Vienna International Music Competition (2018) and a Gold Medal at the Manhattan International Music Competition (2019), and was the youngest Semifinalist at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2017. Irena began playing the cello at age five with her mother, finished Bachelor studies in Detmold in the class of Xenia Jankovic, and now, pursues her Masters at the Universität der Künste Berlin, in the class of Jens Peter Maintz.
Anouchka Hack, lauréate du Prix Jean-Nicholas Firmenich de la Verbier Festival Academy (2021) et du Prix Leyda Ungerer (2022), se produit en solo et en duo avec sa sœur, la pianiste Katharina Hack. Elle s’est récemment produite en solo avec l’Orchestre symphonique d’État d’Istanbul et l’Orchestre symphonique Royal de Bangkok. Elle a donné des récitals en duo à la Laeiszhalle de Hambourg et au Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. En tant que chambriste, elle s’est produite au Casals-Forum Kronberg, au Festival de musique Rheingau ainsi qu’en Belgique, en France, en Suisse et en Irlande. Une tournée avec Gautier Capuçon en 2022/23 la mènera au Konzerthaus de Vienne, à la Fondation Louis Vuitton et au Victoria Hall de Genève. En 2020, le premier album de son duo est édité sur le label GENUIN classics ; il a été nommé pour le German Record Critics Award et l’Opus Klassik. Avec sa sœur, Anouchka est également directrice artistique du meetMUSIC Festival (Germany). Elle joue sur un violoncelle de Bartolomeo Tassini, Venise 1769.
