Since his succes at the Van Cliburn Competition, Yunchan Lim has captivated audiences around the world. At just 21, he is already a major artist of the Festival, returning each summer with programmes alternating between recitals, chamber music, and concertos. This year, on July 26, he reunites with his mentor Minsoo Sohn for Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos, conducted by Lahav Shani. Then, on July 30, he will present the monumental Piano and String Quintet by Nikolaï Medtner. Lim will be joined by some of the finest members of the Verbier Generation: Daniel Lozakovich, Paloma So, Timothy Ridout, and Kian Soltani. Finally, as the highlight of his Verbier residency, he will give his first recital in the Salle des Combins on July 31, featuring a program devoted to the Fantasie, with works by Chopin, Schubert, and Schumann. For those who missed his miraculous Goldberg Variations last year, here’s your chance to experience this truly extraordinary artist!

Two piano legends come together in Verbier! From Mozart to Dvořák, including excerpts from the Slavonic Dances, through Schumann’s Bilder aus Osten, as well as Smetana’s Vlatva. These masterpieces, some of which are rarely performed in public, set this concert apart as a highlight of the 2026 edition.

Now a regular artist at Verbier, Alexandre Kantorow presents a captivating programme featuring Chopin’s Prelude in C-sharp minor, Beethoven’s last Sonata, and the monumental Sonata by Medtner. A specialist in Russian repertoire, the 28-year-old pianist captivates audiences with the intensity and depth of his interpretations. Kantorow will also be featured at the closing concert on August 2, performing a second Tchaikovsky concerto, a signature piece for him since his triumph with it at the 2019 Tchaikovsky Competition.
