Meet our Winners!
This winter, VF KiDS invited children to submit drawings inspired by Sergei Prokofiev’s timeless musical tale Peter and the Wolf, which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year. Young artists from Switzerland and beyond gave free rein to their imagination, reinventing the world of Peter, his animal friends and the wolf through visions full of colour, poetry and fantasy.
Thirteen outstanding drawings were selected by a jury chaired by illustrator Marc Philippin and members of the Verbier Festival team. These works — along with other creations from the contest — will be incorporated into a live animation created by Mr Philippin, presented during the performance of Peter and the Wolf at the Verbier Cinema on 18 July 2026, with musicians from the VF Orchestras.
Congratulations to all our young artists for their creativity and imagination!

Category Ages 5 to 7
Mia Sofia Moshkovich
Age 7
Mellingen AG, Switzerland
Comment from Marc Philippin:
” An original composition that sums up all the mischief of the story. Almost all the characters are there. You can even see the poor duck stuck in the wolf’s stomach. A beautiful execution in felt-tip pen.”

Category Ages 8 to 10
Pascal Tironi
Age 8
Männedorf ZH, Switzerland
Comment from Marc Philippin:
“A splendid collage masterfully crafted using a variety of materials ranging from felt to blue feathers. To illustrate the scene of the mischievous bird teasing the big wolf’s snout, the artist has sought to make the scene even more striking by presenting it in the form of a bas-relief. Inviting us to touch and see the full extent of his talent.”

Catégorie 11 à 12 ans
Alva Rabe
Age 11
Männedorf ZH, Switzerland
Comment from Marc Philippin:
“A magnificent watercolor painted with grace and delicacy. A comical snapshot depicting the fear of a cat being chased by a wolf. Painted in aquatic tones, the artist has skillfully captured all the emotion of the fleeing cat.”

Ten other drawings across all age categories received an honorable mention
