Amira Abouzahra

Hailed by Zubin Mehta as “one of the most outstanding talents of her generation”, the 20-year-old violinist Amira Abouzahra has already appeared in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Lincoln Center, the Berliner Philharmonie and the Royal Opera House. She makes her Verbier debut on 18 July, alongside Julien Quentin, performing the flamboyant Violin Sonata by Richard Strauss, as well as the transcription of Der Rosenkavalier. On 29 July, she joins Bruce Liu, Augustin Dumay, Timothy Ridout and Mischa Maisky for Schumann’s Piano Quintet.

Named “Emerging Opera Singer of the Year” by Opernwelt magazine in 2019, the soprano has built a remarkable career, notably in Mozart roles. Anna El-Khashem has since won a special prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg. After portraying Zerlina in Don Giovanni at the 2022 Verbier Festival and Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro in 2024, she returns on 18 July to perform under Gábor Takács-Nagy, in the final opera of the Da Ponte trilogy, Così fan tutte.

She is one of the most sought-after French mezzo-sopranos of her generation, nominated for the Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2020. Three years earlier at Verbier, Adèle Charvet was awarded the Prix Yves Paternot, in particular for her portrayal of Filippievna in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. She returns for a very special evening on 21 July, marking the 10th anniversary of the Prize. On 22 July, listen to Adèle Charvet in a UNLTD programme celebrating the legendary Joséphine Baker — a vibrant tribute to her free spirit, at the crossroads of cabaret and jazz.

Described by Gramophone as “the real deal,” the former student of Itzhak Perlman makes his Verbier debut on 19 July in a recital devoted to Romanticism and Stravinsky, alongside pianist Julien Quentin. Also active in chamber music programmes, Stephen Waarts will perform with some of the greatest artists: Nikolai Lugansky and Mischa Maisky on 20 July, and Peter Mattei on 27 July. Catch the young violinist in Robert Schumann’s Piano Quartet on 29 July, with Minsoo Sohn, Timothy Ridout and Jens Peter Maintz.

Named “Young Talent of the Year 2025” (Opus Klassik), Timothy Ridout is emerging as the leading new voice of the viola, a worthy successor to Tamestit, Umai, Bashmet… Join him on 22 July in a recital featuring a world premiere by Nahre Sol. Appearing in three Rencontres Inédites, he performs pieces by Dvořák with Alexandre Kantorow and Leonidas Kavakos on 28 July, followed by Schumann’s Piano Quartet and Quintet on 29 July. Finally, he appears alongside Yunchan Lim and Daniel Lozakovich in Medtner’s monumental Piano Quintet — an event not to be missed!

At just 24, Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich is one of the brightest talents of his generation. On 24 July, he shares the stage with his brother Timothy, in a concert promising rare moments of emotion and musical communion. Another highlight is Medtner’s Piano Quintet on 30 July during the Rencontres Inédites VIII, bringing together the finest musicians of the Verbier Generation: Yunchan Lim, Paloma So, Timothy Ridout and Kian Soltani.

At just 25, Yamen Saadi has been appointed Konzertmeister of the prestigious Wiener Philharmoniker. This summer, he will be joined by leading soloists, including Nobuyuki Tsujii for Brahms’ Piano Quartet No. 1 on 26 July, and Peter Mattei in a programme dedicated to Bach on 27 July. Playing a Stradivarius once owned by Fritz Kreisler, he reunites with the finest violinists of the younger generation (Daniel Lozakovich, Marc Bouchkov and Stephen Waarts) in a virtuosic display on 26 July. A young talent not to be missed!

Bryan Cheng was the first cellist to win the Prix Yves Paternot in 2022, an award recognising the most promising musicians of the Academy. That same year, he was also honoured at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition. This summer, Bryan Cheng reunites with Marc Bouchkov, Paloma So, Blythe Teh Engstoem and Julien Quentin for Igor Raykhelson’s Piano Quintet No.2, a playful yet sophisticated work poised between jazz and the classical repertoire.

Winner of the famous Chopin Competition and named “Young Talent of the Year” by Opus Klassik in 2024, Bruce Liu is one of the leading figures of the new generation of pianists. He will perform this summer under James Gaffigan in Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3. Bruce Liu will also present an ambitious recital on 28 July, taking the audience on a boundless musical journey. On 29 July, don’t miss Schumann’s Piano Quintet, which he will perform alongside, among others, Augustin Dumay and Mischa Maisky.
