British bass-baritone Edward Birchinall is a Harewood Artist at English National Opera, where he recently performed Schaunard (La Bohème) and Papageno (Die Zauberflöte). He trained at the Royal Northern College of Music under Matthew Best, graduating with distinction. Edward has performed as soloist in concert and recital throughout the UK, including appearances with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the Hallé Orchestra. He won first prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Society Bursary for Young Singers and was a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Awards.
