Lyam Chenaux

Lyam began playing the cello at the age of five and made his first solo appearance at ten with the Budweis Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by D. Svec. On that occasion he met Denis Severin, who has since become his teacher.
He has collaborated with numerous orchestras worldwide and is a four-time winner of the Swiss Music Competition across all categories. His many international distinctions include prizes at the Classicalia Competition and the International Cello Competition Popper (2023).
In 2025 he won First Prize and special prizes at the Young Musician Tallinn Competition and the David Geringas International Cello Competition, and also received a special prize at the Thomas Kuti finals in Dublin.
At the age of twelve he joined the LGT Young Soloists virtuoso ensemble and has since appeared on major international stages. Since 2025 he has been a scholarship holder at the Musikakademie Liechtenstein. Lyam performs on an 1881 cello by A. Guadagnini.
