Lyam Chenaux

Lyam began playing the cello at the age of five and made his first solo appearance at ten with the Budweis Philharmonic Orchestra (D. Svec). On that occasion he met Denis Severin, who has since become his teacher at University of Music Geneva-Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
He has collaborated with numerous orchestras worldwide and is a four-time winner of the Swiss Music Competition across all categories. His many international distinctions include first prize at Classicalia Competition and at International Popper Cello Competition (2023), First Prize and special prizes at the Young Musician Tallinn Competition and at the David Geringas International Cello Competition (2025).
In 2026, Lyam won French TV “Prodiges” competition, and signed for an album by Warner Classics. At the age of twelve he joined the LGT Young Soloists virtuoso ensemble (A. Gilman) and has since appeared on major international stages.
He is a scholarship holder at the Musikakademie Liechtenstein since 2025. Lyam performs on an 1881 cello by A. Guadagnini (Adopt A Musician) and is endorsed artist by Thomastik-Infeld Vienna.
