Marcia Domenjoz is a Swiss visual artist born in 1998 in Yverdon-les-Bains. In 2022, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from EDHEA (École de design et haute école d’art) in Sierre, where she developed a multidisciplinary practice combining installation, ceramics, collage, performance, and participatory approaches.
Her work explores the relationships between human beings and their environment, with a particular focus on living systems, ecosystems, notions of heritage and memory, as well as the social and cultural structures that shape our perceptions. Through the use of organic materials—particularly earth—and immersive installations, she questions modes of representation and the power structures embedded in collective narratives.
Since completing her studies, Marcia Domenjoz has participated in several exhibitions in Switzerland, in both institutional and independent contexts. She has taken part in collective projects such as Womanhouse 2021 at the Manoir de la Ville de Martigny, as well as the exhibition Méijon. Ses débris le frapperont sans l’effrayer at the Fondation Édouard Vallet. Her work was also presented at the Musée d’Estavayer-le-Lac as part of the exhibition Promesses.
Winner of the City of Sierre Bachelor Prize in 2022, she was awarded an artistic residency at Malévoz Quartier Culturel in 2023, enabling her to further pursue her research into social and territorial dynamics.
