Academy: Creative Project Development
The Creative Project Development Residency offers an opportunity to an imaginative and entrepreneurial young artist to develop and lead an original project that pushes the boundaries of the traditional concert experience.

Projects that celebrate traditional cultural heritages and address social issues across the globe are particularly sought out, as are musicians who show an entrepreneurial spirit. The selected musician (any instrument or voice-type) will benefit from intensive one-on-one coaching with mentors.

mentors 2026

All Academy musicians—and especially the Creative Project Development Residents—learn to navigate the business of music through exposure to concepts they don’t learn in school: interactive concert programming to address changing audience tastes and demographics, effective marketing and social media, media training, financial management, sound and video recording, and mental and physical wellness practices. Musicians meet with artists, educators and businesspeople who are living proof that there is no single career path for a young artist. The Resident works one-on-one with Academy’s mentors over an intense two to three weeks.
