Maria Mettral

Swiss actress, singer and narrator Maria Mettral has enjoyed a distinguished career spanning more than four decades across theatre, television, film and music. After training at Geneva’s École supérieure d’art dramatique (ESAD), she began her career at the Théâtre de Carouge before appearing with many of Switzerland’s leading theatres. She has collaborated with renowned directors including Georges Wod, André Steiger, Michel Duchaussoy and Jean-Paul Roussillon, performing major roles in works by Molière, Musset, Chekhov, Strindberg and contemporary playwrights. Alongside her stage career, she has appeared in numerous television productions, notably the popular Swiss sitcom Bigoudi, as well as in films including Nicolas Wadimoff’s 15 Rue des Bains and Kadogo. An accomplished recital artist, Maria Mettral is also widely recognised for her work as a narrator with leading orchestras, bringing literary and musical works to life through her expressive storytelling and commanding stage presence.
