Opening Ceremony of the Verbier Festival

The Verbier Festival invites you to a true celebration of Swiss music at the opening ceremony of its 32nd edition. This year, the internationally renowned classical music event will shine a spotlight on the most talented Valaisan and Romandy musicians of their generation.

 

 

The evening will bring together:

The charismatic cellist Estelle Revaz, well known not only for her musical talent but also for her political engagement as a Swiss National Councillor;

The remarkable pianist Loris Mittaz who captivates the audience with his deep and colourful melodies;

The outstanding violinist Arthur Trælnes, discovered at the Verbier Festival and now a regular Konzertmeister of the Festival’s various orchestras.

Joining them on stage will be a reference of Swiss musical life: the Oberwalliser Vokalensemble, who will perform a vibrant selection of traditional and classical works with irresistible energy, under the guidance of their musical director Hansruedi Kämpfen.

Pianists Lionel Monnet and Roberto Olzer as well as the Ensemble « apartig » will be part of the festivities.

 

 

This exceptional concert will be preceded by welcome messages from prominent figures who are proud to celebrate the opening of the Verbier Festival 2025: Fabien Sauthier, Président de la Commune de Val de Bagnes : Mathias Reynard, Conseiller d’État du Valais; Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Chairman of the Board of the Verbier Cultural Center Foundation; François Reyl, Chairman of the Board of the Verbier Festival Foundation; and the traditional welcome address by Martin T:son Engstroem, Founder and Co-CEO of the Verbier Festival. Annie Dutoit-Argerich will be the evening’s master of ceremony.
