Three mysterious creatures observe the Earth. One of them gives birth to a little girl, who becomes the protagonist of a parallel journey through the seasons of nature and the seasons of life: childhood, adolescence, adulthood and old age. Accompanied — and at times kindly provoked — by these beings, part angels, part guardians, she grows up and discovers the world: spring with birdsong and gentle rain, the summer of fireflies, rivers and first loves, the autumn of work and the wind in the leaves, the winter of silence, fire and memories. But like everyone, she leaves behind small traces of her passage which, as they accumulate, gradually slow the natural breath of the seasons. This wordless music-theatre piece, set to the timeless music of Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons performed by musicians of the Verbier Festival Academy, offers a poetic and visual tale about the flow of time, the fragile harmony between humanity and nature, and the care needed not to interrupt the vital cycle of our shared home: the Earth.
