Academy Ensembles

Former violist of the Alban Berg Quartet and former cellist of the Belcea Quartet, Isabel Charisius and Alasdair Tait bring together two complementary traditions of chamber music — the Viennese discipline of the Alban Berg and the expressive vitality of the Belcea. Together they guide the Academy Ensembles in the art of listening, breathing, and building a shared sound in which every voice remains free.

Seats for Academy masterclasses are limited and in high demand. Book early to avoid disappointment. Friends of the Verbier Festival: two weeks of early access to reservations. No priority entry or seating in masterclass venues.

Cancellations and waiting list
If you will not use a reserved ticket, please return it to the Ticket Office so another festivalgoer may attend. For sold-out sessions, a waiting list is available. You’ll be informed if seats open up and receive daily updates on Academy events.

Entry and timing
Entry is guaranteed until 10 minutes after the start of each session. After this, unclaimed seats are released on a first-come basis. To limit disturbance, entry and exit are only allowed at suitable moments.

All masterclasses are held in English.
