Biography

French-American singer of the celebrated group Moriarty (two albums with Naïve and two with Air Rytmo), Rosemary Standley has been singing since the age of eight, alongside her father, performing an American folk repertoire. She also studies classical singing to enrich her repertoire and musical culture. Among her many experiences and collaborations, in 2010 she sang under the direction of Laurence Équilbey for the creation Private Domain (Monteverdi, Fauré, Purcell, Verdi) ; she took part in the creation Les Francoises in 2010 alongside Olivia Ruiz, Camille, La Grande Sophie, Jeanne Cherhal and Emily Loizeau, as well as in the show Memories from The Missing Room, based on the album The Missing Room and staged by Marc Lainé.

Since 2012, Rosemary Standley has continued her personal journey with particularly successful creations, each revealing a new facet of herself and her talent: Birds on a Wire with cellist Dom La Nena, a magnificent show and album spanning Purcell to Leonard Cohen; Queen of a Heart, a majestic song recital staged by Juliette Deschamps; and Love I Obey, in which she explores a baroque repertoire alongside the Bruno Helstroffer’s band.

What above all characterises Rosemary Standley is her thirst for pursuing different projects simultaneously, bringing together pop music and so-called classical music. With her unique voice, she restores them to their original essence…
